🧡 What is Chatty Dragons?

Chatty Dragons is a storytelling brand with a new cast of dragon characters that blends fantasy with real-life themes. We publish an ongoing blog-style story about young dragons growing up in a human-like world. Our stories illustrate life experiences that deal with relationships, growing up in a changing world, pursuing your dreams and dealing with real emotions. Our dragons are closely related to the Millennial generation having lived before the age of smart technology, where we explore how life was different in the flashback stories compared to modern day, where dragons have adjusted to a more sedentary lifestyle and different types of communication.

❤️ Is this a book series, a blog, or something else?

It’s a blog-based story world, published weekly every Friday at 3:30pm with new scenes and character moments. We have also released the audio version of our story with a new episode every two weeks read by the author, Amanda, with added insights into the story. The story is always evolving and is yet to be completed. We invite fans to submit dragon ideas seasonally (three times a year) to help shape our story.

💙 What ages is Chatty Dragons for?

Chatty Dragons is ideal for middle school to adult, but is not inappropriate for younger readers. We try to keep it pretty wholesome, but tackle some tough scenarios like blended families, single parenthood, broken relationships, self doubt, and losing a loved one. The stories are feel good, moral themed, but some topics may be a little hard to understand for elementary age readers on their own. Younger readers will love the dragons while older ones connect with the deeper emotional narrative. Parents and teachers find our stories useful to prompt character-building conversations.

Characters & Story

💚 Who is the protagonist?

Spyder is our main character. Spyder discovers an abandoned building in the abandoned part of town and decides to leave his life as an investigator to pursue a business venture. He pulls together a team of dragons to start a sticker studio which will later bring life back to the forgotten streets of Scalesville.

🩷 Are the dragons like humans or animals?

They live in a human world, go to school, deal with drama, and have complex relationships. The fantasy gives them wings, but the stories keep their feet on the ground. They live in current time within a similar modernity that has evolved with the advent of smart technology. Flashback stories take place primarily in the year 2005 surrounding students at Scalesville Highschool, more specifically centered around events that occurred after the discovery of a missing child.

🤎 Does the story have any non-dragon characters?

Yes! Scalesville is a reptilian world, where the dragons live among other species such as snakes and lizards. In true dragon nature, they are carnivorous, making note to delicacies in the story such as Lena’s cow broth soup, or Spyder’s favorite gluten free rabbit wrap. Chickens and other birds also exist in Scalesville. Fun fact: Amanda and Nora, the creators, have their own pet reptiles including a corn snake named Alex, and a lizard named Yugi.

Stickers & Products

💛 Can I buy Chatty Dragons stickers online?

Yes! Our shop is open for personal orders. We are currently releasing stickers based off of the characters in the story but have a long term plan to provide stickers of all themes for our niche audience of dragon and reptile lovers.

🩵 Where are the stickers made?

Our stickers are original designs created in St. Clair County, Alabama by our teen artist and Chatty Dragon co-creator, Nora. We use a print facility in Minnesota to print our stickers, while our cards are printed either in-house or with other USA printers. When you support us, you’re supporting a small mom and daughter business with big imaginations and hope for growth.

🤎 Can I carry Chatty Dragons products in my shop?

Absolutely. We offer wholesale options for retail stores. Email us at getchatty@chattydragons.com to start a request. Email is the best way to reach us and I, Amanda, respond to every email personally. Unfortunately we receive a high volume of spam calls and for that reason prefer email or text 205-880-8081.

🧡 Can I use Chatty Dragons in the classroom?

Yes! Our stories work great for social-emotional learning (SEL), creative writing prompts, and discussion about real-life struggles in a safe, imaginative context. We invite you to share our stories in the classroom (with credit to the creator’s ownership and respecting copyright) and please share with us how it’s going. We are on your favorite social platforms @chattydragons. For further collaboration, contact us and let’s discuss more creative ways to incorporate the stories into your syllabus. Our dragons and their stories are not available to be reproduced for commercial use or personal promotion.

It is in our future plans. We are a two-person mom and daughter team working at the speed of real life, which is sometimes not as fast as we prefer, but even small steps are steps to a bigger dream. Subscribe to be the first to know when free resources drop.
